Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. </span>~ Margaret Mead, Anthropologist</span></div><br />As an Ada County Commissioner, I have focused on fiscal responsibility, public safety, government accountability and transparency, and open access to the public. Frankly, these are the same priorities I will bring to state government. <br /><br />Let’s take a look at a few of the actions that have been taken on behalf of the public during my two terms on the Ada County Commission:<br /><ul><li>Saved taxpayers $14 million in my first term of office, including a $6 million rebate to property taxpayers.</li><li>Cut $22 million in unnecessary spending, or 11.4 percent, from the newly-adopted 2010 Ada County budget.</li><li>Refrained from implementing the allowable three percent increase in property taxes.</li><li>Implemented Town Hall Meetings to listen to concerns of the public.</li><li>Created a <a href="http://sharonu.com/blog" target="_blank">blog</a> to communicate directly with the public rather than through the often biased news media.</li></ul><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6872955195359830552-4926192070417772348?l=sharonu.com%2Frecord' alt='' /></div>Sharon Ullmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03077279260794644955sharonu@cableone.net
