Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. ~ Margaret Mead, Anthropologist

As an Ada County Commissioner, I have focused on fiscal responsibility, public safety, government accountability and transparency, and open access to the public. Frankly, these are the same priorities I will bring to state government.

Let’s take a look at a few of the actions that have been taken on behalf of the public during my two terms on the Ada County Commission:
  • Saved taxpayers $14 million in my first term of office, including a $6 million rebate to property taxpayers.
  • Cut $22 million in unnecessary spending, or 11.4 percent, from the newly-adopted 2010 Ada County budget.
  • Refrained from implementing the allowable three percent increase in property taxes.
  • Implemented Town Hall Meetings to listen to concerns of the public.
  • Created a blog to communicate directly with the public rather than through the often biased news media.
