My past and present experience includes:
• Serving the public as one of three full-time Ada County Commissioners. Ada County, with a population of 408,000, has 1600 employees and an annual budget of $171 million.
• Receiving the first Max Dalton Open Government Award.
• Serving eighteen years as a public advocate on sewer implementation rates, water rates, garbage collection rates, schools, property taxes and open government.
• Chairing the Region IV Early Childhood Committee for children with developmental disabilities.
• Chairing the Salvation Army’s Booth Family Care Center Advisory Council for pregnant and parenting teens.
• Serving on the Idaho Newspaper Foundation Board to advocate for full access to government.
• Earning a degree in Social Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.
• Raising six children: Emily 23 – in graduate school, Kevin 22 – in college, Kelly 20 – in college, ten-year-old twins Michael and Melody, and Angelina, age six.
